0.73 oz Style 106 Fiberglass Cloth with Volan Finish - Fiberglass Cloth Supply and Education

Style 106 Fiberglass cloth is a 0.73 oz/sq yd plain weave fabric commonly used with epoxy resins on Balsa wings and fuselages to give it the added strength and toughness needed.  This 106 is finished in the soft chrome based finish known as Volan.  Volan has been around since the 1950's and was one of the first finishes ever used on Glass Fabric.  There is some variation with Volans predominately the amount of Chrome used.  We have sold 10's of thousands of yards of 106 in the past to many, many other re sellers and have at the same time sold to individual model builders in roll form.  We get very little 106 in any more and must apologize to the re sellers in not being able to maintain sufficient quantity to fulfill their larger needs and instead have chosen to just sell the 5, 10 and 20 yard rolls on this site.  We do have 106 in the loom state, or "greige", which is not been through the finishing process making it suitable for resins.  This cloth is not suitable for epoxy resins but is preferred for specific industries over the finished cloth.   The 106 in the greige and heat cleaned is listed in other categories on this site but should not be purchased for use with epoxy resins.
