Heat Cleaned Fiberglass Cloth

There are essentially two different levels of heat cleaning fiberglass cloth. The first one is just a carmelization process where the PVA release agents have been cooked or carmelized but not removed. This process is suitable for certain types of adhesives, melamine lamintes and other applications. Fiberglass cloth at this stage has a brownish tint. The second type of fiberglass cloth heat cleaning is where the the weaving process release agents have been cooked and removed with washing. Fiberglass cloth at this stage is clean and clear looking and is suitable for many applications such as silicone laminates, insulation and other possible substrates. Below is a table with most of the carmelized and heat cleaned finishes that we are familiar with.
