Style 2220, 3.02 oz/sq yd 4HS with 460 finish close up with data from Thayercraft
2220 is the Stiff version of 120 - both in thicker filament and the epoxy funtional silane finish - use this for large flat layups Style 220 and 2220 are identical fabrics in that they have the exact same weight, thread count, thickness and use identical yarn having the same filament diameter and same number of strands in the yarn in both warp and fill.  220 is most weaver's style number and 2220 is BGF's.  Generally Style numbers are shared by all weavers with some acceptions as is the case here.  Both 220 and 2220 have a thread count of 60 x 58 ends/inch and both use the yarn ECE 225 1/0 in the warp and fill.  Discrepancies exist with the oz/sq yd but one could assume with the fixed variable of Yarn and thread count the fabrics would be identical.  We use the fabric weights the weaver's provide, though they keep hanging slightly, to differentiate the two identical fabrics.  220 and 2220 both use the thicker glass filaments of 7 microns versus the 5 microns used in the style 120 4 harness satin weave fiberglass fabric.  The 220 and 2220 with the thicker filaments are one component of the added stiffness of these two versus the 120 but in addition to that the epoxy functional silane 460 really adds some stiffness to the 2220. Style 2220 finished in the 460 silane for epoxy finish is a high strength finish but very firm and not suitable for contours at all.  It is suitable for larger flat layups where you want the cloth pulling out without snagging on anything and being able to handle rough treatment as for coating big wood projects. Style 2220 with the silane 460 finish is available in 50" wide in 30, 50 and 100 yard rolls.
